From The Principal's Office:
- The 2007-08 School Directory is available for pickup in the School Office. We have reserved a copy for each CSSW family. It contains a complete, current list of contact data for all CSSW families and staff as well as other important information.
- The CSSW Board of Directors has three new members that joined since the beginning of the school year. We welcome current CSSW parents Thomas Chin, Walter Foote and Joshua Silverman to the Board. Contact data for all Board Directors are included in the School Directory and on our website.
- CSSW Email: The school has been sending regular school-wide email communications to all members. We have been working diligently to obtain and update all CSSW member email addresses. If you have not been receiving these communications, please contact the School Office. As a further reminder, during Saturday school hours only, you may call the School Office at 725-1500, ext. 1523 or email info@csswny.org during the week.

Academic Activities:
- We held our annual school-wide Written Essay Contest on 11/17/07 for 3rd Grade and above. Student participation was strong, divided among three age groups: 3rd-4th Grades, 5th-7th Grades and 8th Grade and above. Thanks to all the parents who encouraged their children to participate and to the staff who organized and judged the events. The contest awards will be announced at our Annual New Year¡¦s Performance.
- We welcome new teacher Mei-Sang Hsieh to the 6A Class. Teacher Hsieh is a current CSSW parent and also a licensed accupuncturist.
- Coordination with Individual Teachers. Each language class teacher prepares a summary weekly memorandum outlining course material covered in class, the next week¡¦s homework and tests, and other important timely information. Please review this summary weekly and communicate any questions or concerns directly to the teacher. If you do not have your teacher¡¦s contact data, please come to the School Office.

Cultural Activities:
- The Halloween Costume Party was held on 10/27/07 and many students participated in the parade. Prizes were awarded in various categories. Many thanks to the Parents Association Co-Coordinators who organized this fun event. Photos of the event are available for purchase in the Parents Lounge and are also posted on the school website.
- Enrollment for Culture Classes are finalized during the first three weeks of the school year. Changes in course selection requires the permission of the individual class instructors. Students are required to attend the 3rd period culture classes unless other arrangements have been made with the School Office.

Parents' Association:
- The 2007-08 Co-Chairpersons for the Parents Association are Summe Chan, Joyce Lim and Rose Eng. Many thanks to Laurie Rigelhaupt who served as past PA Chair for many years.
- The 2007 CSSW Christmas Party, scheduled for 12/15/07, promises to be a delicious and fun event. Detailed information on the party, including ticket information, has been separately distributed. All CSSW families and friends are welcome.
