From The Principal's Office:
- Registration for the 2009-10 school year has begin. Registration forms and instruction letters have been distributed to all families. The deadline for Early Registration is April 30, 2009. We strongly encourage all returning families to take advantage of the benefits of Early Registration.
- Outstanding Results from Current Year's CSSW Classroom Evaluation Achieved. We received feedback from 104 respondents regarding their assessment of the classroom work achieved so far this year. Approximately half the respondents delivered hard copies and half completed the online survey. The mean and median scores for Good Teacher "Overall Performance" was 3.5 and 4.0, respectively (3 = Agree and 4 = Strongly Agree). The median score for all teachers across 10 rating categories was 4.0 in seven categories and 3.0 in the remaining 3 categories. The overall results are an affirmation of the professionalism of our staff. The Board of Directors will carefully review the results and provide feedback to teachers. Thank you to all parents and students who participated in this important exercise.
- CSSW welcomes the following new teachers to our staff: Ms. Tracy Lin (replacing Amanda Liao in Kindergarten) and Ms. Shuling Hsieh (replacing Ann Lin in 2A). After many years of dedicated teaching at CSSW, Amanda Liao and Ann Lin are both returning to Taiwan.
- Please make sure that all Fall Semester Report Cards have been signed by a parent and returned to your respective teachers. The Spring Semester grades will be recorded on that document and together will constitute the official record of each student's achievements for the 2008-09 school year.
- Reminder to all Students to Not Touch or Move any Items in the Edgemont H.S. Classrooms. We ask all staff and parents to help our students be good citizens and be respectful of other people's property.

Academic Activities:
- Our annual school-wide Public Speaking Contest is scheduled for 5/9/09. Most students from 4th - 12th Grade will participate in this important exercise to improve their verbal proficiency. In addition, for the 2nd and 3rd Grade classes, we will hold a Reading & Vocabulary Competition more suitable for students at those age levels. The contest awards will be announced at our Year-End Ceremonies on 6/13/09.
- Submission of Students Materials for 2009 Yearbook. Students in all language classes should begin preparations to submit material for their class portion of the upcoming 2009 Yearbook. Teachers in each class will provide more detailed instructions.

Cultural Activities:
- CSSW Seminars: "Kingka Games: A Board Game that Teaches You Chinese" scheduled for 4/25/09 at 11:00 - 12:00 in the Parents Lounge.

Parents' Association:
- The PA Snack Bar is a success! Thanks to The Parents Association Co-Chairs Summe Chan and Rose Eng for managing this weekly snack concession. All proceeds help fund PA activities during the year.
