From The Principal's Office:
- The school-wide Written Composition Contest was held on Nov. 19. The winners will be announced at our Chinese New Year's program on Jan. 21, 2006.
- Personalized copies of the CSSW 2005-05 School Directory with a complete listing of all families and staff have been distributed. If you did not pick up your copy, please come by the school office.
- As part of our Annual Chinese New Year's Performance, each class has been preparing a short on-stage program. Please help your child with their practices as assigned by their respective teachers. On Jan. 21st, please send your children to their regular classrooms at 9:00 AM. The program shall start in the Auditorium at 9:30. Families, relatives and friends of CSSW are all invited.

Academic Activities:
- In order to better establish the use of the Chinese dictionary in our upper grades, we have scheduled a school-wide Dictionary Contest for 5th Grade and above on 3/4/06. This requirement supplements our other school-wide academic events including the Written Composition and Public Speaking Contests.
- A new Supplementary Tutoring Class has been set up for both parents and students during Period 3 (11:00) to provide resources to families who would like additional help with class work and homework. Our 4th Grade teacher Frank Lin leads the class.

Parents' Association:
- " The Parents Association, in conjunction with the Board of Directors and many parent volunteers, sponsored a successful and festive Holiday Party on Dec.17. for approximately 200 guests. In addition to the lunch buffet catered by Pagoda Restaurant, there were various arts and crafts activities, a ping pong contest and a Christmas raffle supervised by Santa Claus. Many thanks to our PA Chair Laurie Rigelhaupt for organizing this yearly event.
